AGRISHORT
The project “Agrishort – Through the cooperation of institutions to establish short supply chains and a more competitive agricultural sector in the cross-border region” was approved for financing within the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Co-operation Programme 2014-2020.
The Lead beneficiary of the project was REDEA Regional Development Agency of Međimurje
Project partners were PORA Regional Development Agency of Koprivnica Križevci County, LAG Zala Termal Volgye from Zalaegerszeg and Balaton Region Development Agency “LBDCA” from Siofok
Project duration was 16 months, from the 01st of May 2017 until the 31st of August 2018
The total value of the project was 206.727,03 EUR
EU co-financing rate was 85%.
The overall objective of the project was to connect institutions, services and representatives of the agricultural sector in the cross-border area and to enable better transfer of knowledge and skills among all stakeholders in order to enable a faster and easier development processes in the agricultural sector.
PORA Regional Development Agency of Koprivnica Križevci County developed a joint study entitled “Analysis of the Current Situation of the Agri-Food Sector for the Koprivnica-Križevci County and Međimurje County” and a joint document entitled “Short Food Supply Chains (SFSC) in the Cross-border Region” to provide guidance with establishing short food supply chains (SFSC).
PORA Regional Development Agency of Koprivnica Križevci County organized 2 project partner meetings, professional education and training entitled “Development of the agri-food sector through short food supply chains” for potential SFSC members. A study tour to Austria was organized as part of the implementation of the project and to visit examples of good practices. Also, PORA wa in charge of forming a working group and identifying potential SFSC members, developing a business plan for SFSC, developing a SFSC visual identity, publishing articles in local newspapers, 2 appearances on TV and producing promotional materials.
The results of implementation were new knowledge and experience gained, raised awareness of the importance of mutual cooperation between individual institutions and the agricultural sector, education of personnel in support institutions and establishment of a short food supply chain that will improve the agricultural sector in the county.
